Serial killer Peter Tobin is alleged to be Glasgow's Bible John who murdered three women from the Barrowlands dance-hall Glasgow by first quoting Biblical phrases to them before attacking. It is further alleged this fact is widely known although some false leads are deliberately put out to disguise the fact. A youthful Tobin (from when the Barrowlands murders happened) and the photo-fit of Bible John share an uncanny likeness. Tobin is currently in confinement never to be released; so why not have him stand trial for the other murders he is accused of?
Glasgow had a spate of murdered young women working as prostitutes where the only suspects for which are government agents, hence a need to have unsolved murders to convince a skeptical public serial killers can operate in Glasgow yet never be caught. Such a scenario is not very convincing given all the people that were thrown into the River Clyde that suddenly stopped when a women fought off her attacker, or Anthrax poisoning junkies, for examples. All part of a murder rate so high a Human Rights representative of the UN accused the British government of committing genocide in Glasgow!
